Why this drill works

Narrowing the base of support removes the ability to slide or sway without losing balance. This forces the body to rotate purely around a fixed axis (coil) and synchronizes the upper and lower body.

How to do it

  1. 1

    Set up to the ball with your feet completely together (touching).

  2. 2

    Make smooth 3/4 swings hitting the ball.

  3. 3

    Feel like you are turning inside a barrel; keeping your height and center constant.

  4. 4

    Practice Routine: Hit 5 shots with feet together, then 1 normal shot to transfer the feeling.
