Why this drill works

Provides immediate tactile feedback. If you leave the chair, you have early extended (thrust hips forward). Staying on the chair forces proper pelvic rotation and side bend.

How to do it

  1. 1

    Place a chair or golf bag behind you, lightly touching your glutes at address.

  2. 2

    Backswing: Maintain contact with the chair using your trail glute.

  3. 3

    Downswing: Keep your glutes in contact with the chair through impact and follow-through.

  4. 4

    Start with half swings to build the feeling of staying 'deep' before hitting full shots.
