Why this drill works

Rushing is often caused by an arm-dominant swing. engaging the torso (belt buckle) and counting to two slows the backswing, allowing the body to load correctly for effortless speed.

How to do it

  1. 1

Practice: Place a club across your shoulders and rotate your torso smoothly until your back faces the target.

  2. 2

Feel: Focus on moving from the belt buckle/core rather than just the shoulders or arms.

  3. 3

Execution: Count 'One, Two' during the backswing to force a slower pace.

  4. 4

Ensure the backswing is body-driven to allow time for a powerful transition.
