Why this drill works

Forces an extreme in-to-out path (4 to 10) to cure the over-the-top move. The 'face down' finish ensures the face is square or closed to that path, promoting a draw.

How to do it

  1. 1

Setup: Imagine a clock face where target is 12. Place ground sticks at 4 o'clock (delivery) and 10 o'clock (exit).

  2. 2

Constraint 1 (Back): Place a stick angled down at 4 o'clock. You must swing UNDER this stick in the downswing.

  3. 3

Constraint 2 (Front): Place a vertical stick at 10 o'clock. You must swing TO THE RIGHT OF or ABOVE this stick in the follow-through.

  4. 4

Pre-pose the finish: Club over the 10 o'clock stick, face tilted down 45 degrees (closed), lead palm up.

  5. 5

Execution: Swing slow, going under the back stick and over the front stick, matching the pre-posed finish.
