Why This Drill Works (Kinetic Mechanics)
Slicers often set up with level shoulders, promoting an over-the-top path. Adding tilt forces an in-to-out path and upward angle of attack.
How to Perform the Drill
Follow these step-by-step instructions. Rehearse slowly to build proper motor patterns before adding full swing speed.
- 1
Step 1
Setup normally with Driver.
- 2
Step 2
Drop your trail shoulder lower than your lead shoulder (create spine tilt away from target).
- 3
Step 3
Feel like you keep your back to the target longer in transition.
- 4
Step 4
Swing out to 'Right Field'.
What Good Feels Like
Focus on smooth tempo and maintaining body connection through impact. Your body and club should move as a single synchronized unit.
Common Mistake to Avoid
Rushing transition before completing backswing or lunging upper body forward towards ball at impact. Keep movement controlled.
