Why this drill works

Left wrist cupping (extension) causes the club shaft to become vertical and steep [1:02] and opens the clubface. Bowing the wrist flattens the lead wrist and helps shallow the plane.

How to do it

  1. 1

Exaggeration Drill: At the top of your swing, aggressively curl your knuckles down toward the ground (bowing the wrist). Repeat this exaggeration 3-5 times between shots.

  2. 2

Feedback Drill: Place a tee on the front side of your golf glove. Swing, focusing on keeping the tee flat against your lead forearm or creating a gap to ensure the wrist does not cup (extend).
