Why This Drill Works (Kinetic Mechanics)
Bridges the gap between raw speed drills and solid face contact, ensuring speed gains translate into usable distance.
How to Perform the Drill
Follow these step-by-step instructions. Rehearse slowly to build proper motor patterns before adding full swing speed.
- 1
Step 1
Take 2 practice swings at absolute maximum speed off the ball.
- 2
Step 2
Step up to ball and hit a shot maintaining 90% of that maximum feel while keeping center face contact.
- 3
Step 3
Repeat cycle for 10 balls.
- 4
Step 4
Track center contact quality along with carry distance gains.
What Good Feels Like
Focus on smooth tempo and maintaining body connection through impact. Your body and club should move as a single synchronized unit.
Common Mistake to Avoid
Rushing transition before completing backswing or lunging upper body forward towards ball at impact. Keep movement controlled.
